The Balboa Chamber of Commerce was started by distinguished residents and business interests in Balboa. The Chambers mission is to promote economic opportunities, preserving the integrity of the resident’s quality of life and celebrating Balboa’s rich history. The Chamber is dedicated to strengthening member businesses and community involvement. Balboa is a world class vacation destination and one of the most beautiful places to reside on earth.
BALBOA HISTORY
The Newport Beach area known as Balboa was established in 1906. It was memorialized by the construction of the famous and ornate Victorian landmark known as Balboa Pavilion completed in the same year. The Balboa Pavilion has been the centerpiece and social center for the last one hundred and sixteen years. It was enhanced by the addition in the same year of the Pacific Electric Red Car line which began in Pasadena, went through Los Angeles and then onto Long Beach and ended in central Balboa. The Balboa Pier and the Balboa Pavilion became a favorite destination for Los Angeles residents.
